Claire Smith

Occupational Therapist

 

Claire completed her bachelor of occupational therapy at The university of Newcastle and has a keen interest in mental health. Claire has worked as an occupational therapist for over eight years in a variety of community and inpatient mental health roles within the public health setting – working with a diverse range of mental health diagnoses. Claire enjoys the challenge, flexibility and creativity that working within the mental health space requires and is passionate about delivering recovery focussed, person-centres assessments and interventions.

Claire is trained in a variety of specialised mental health assessments including ACLS (Allen’s cognitive screen) , and therapies including solution focussed therapy, ACT, and motivational interviewing.

When Claire isn’t working she is chasing around a toddler, baking, or enjoying her large collection of indoor plants.
