Galia has a Bachelor’s degree in Science, where she specialised in Anatomy. Through this rigorous training she has an excellent understanding of the human body systems. She chose to obtain a Master of Occupational Therapy degree, to have a hands-on approach with helping people reach their maximum potential.
She has over 12 years of Occupational Therapy experience and can also speak Spanish fluently.
She is a member of OT Australia and is an AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist. Her passion is working with people to reach their maximum ability when they are recovering from a neurological event by helping them re-learn their ADL skills. She also enjoys conducting manual handling risk assessments, to minimise risks to all parties concerned, providing effective solutions for her clients. Galia has extensive experience in providing vocational training for people that have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
Galia has worked for commonwealth services, state level services and not for profit organisations. She regularly maintains her training and skills to ensure adherence to current best practice guidelines.
Galia is experienced with providing Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology Assessments, Cognitive Retraining, Manual Handling Assessments and Home Modification Assessments.
In her personal life, Galia enjoys spending time with her family and going on adventures with them. She loves seeing her kids develop into capable little human beings. Galia also enjoys group exercising, dancing and playing a role in her school’s P&C.
