Michael Morris

Occupational Therapist

Michael obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences (Occupational Therapy) in 2006, is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist and a member of Occupational Therapy Australia. He has worked in various roles in the disability sector for over 17 years, and is passionate about working with and assisting others to safely build and improve their functioning, independence, and achieve their life goals.

Michael enjoys educating and working with other therapists and has worked as a tutor at the University of Sydney, teaching Occupational Therapy in Practice in the Home and Community to OT students. Prior to joining the Verve OT team, he was working as a senior technical advisor with the advisory team within the NDIS, providing NDIS staff and stakeholders with specialist advice regarding NDIS legislation, home modifications and assistive technology. This experience has provided him with a thorough understanding of how the NDIS can support participants and what information needs to be obtained to secure this support.

Michael’s clinical interests and areas of expertise include: NDIS legislation and policy, functional capacity assessments/evaluations, assistive technology and minor and complex home modifications. Michael has continued to engage in additional training in assistive technology assessment and prescription, minor and complex home modifications, home automation systems and clinical supervision certification.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, and is interested in Rugby League and Formula 1 racing.
